The following are actions you can take when you are told to stay indoors:

• Keep windows and doors closed.
• Make sure your HVAC system is in good condition and running efficiently.
• Use an air cleaner or a high-efficiency filter
  
  • The air cleaner should be kept on the highest fan speed.
  • If your HVAC system has a high-efficiency filter, run the fan constantly on low or as often as possible
• If you have air conditioning but leaky windows, try taping the windows with blue painter’s tape that won’t take off the paint.
